Camp Tuhsmeheta has a beautiful location in the rolling hills of west Michigan. It is a safe, yet challenging opportunity for its young campers.
I was fortunate to personally meet several of the counselors and directors just prior to the first week of their season. Many of these fine young people are also blind or visually impaired.
Opportunities Unlimited for the Blind operates the camp. OUB chooses to apply its funding toward camp operations instead of paying for advertisements (or for solicitation of donations). The camp's reputation is spread mostly by word-of-mouth, so...spread the word, loud and clear. Camp T is the best!
Camp T "walks its talk" by providing jobs for the blind - in some cases the very first employment opportunity offered to these counselors. Camp T not only tells campers what they are capable of doing. It SHOWS them what is possible through the employment of these fine, upstanding individuals.
